Christmas EventsLibraries NI is delighted to announce its December Christmas FREE events programme, packed with seasonal activities for all ages.

This year’s line-up includes performances by local school choirs, special Christmas-themed Storytimes, hands-on craft sessions and festive coffee mornings. These events are designed to be welcoming for all ages, making your local library the perfect destination to unwind, connect and celebrate this December.

There are almost 100 FREE Christmas activities taking place in local libraries across Northern Ireland in December – take a look at some of the highlights below and check out the full programme here

St Peter's Primary School Choir Performance
Dungannon Library on Friday 6 December and Monday 9 December from 10:00am – 11:30am.

Enjoy the festive sounds of St Peter's Primary School Collegeland with a morning of Christmas singing and songs.

Christmas Button Craft with Michelle
Holywood Library on Wednesday 4 December from 10:30am – 12 noon.

Create a festive button-themed picture with crafter Michelle Anderson.

St Eugene’s Brass Band Performance
Omagh Library on Tuesday 10 December from 7:00pm – 8:00pm.

Enjoy traditional Christmas tunes by the wonderful St Eugene’s Brass Band.

Carryduff Yarnspinners: Seasonal Tales
Carryduff Library on Wednesday 11 December from 6:30pm – 7:30pm.

Experience the magic of festive storytelling with Belfast-born storyteller Sharon Dickson.

Christmas Jumper Day
Shantallow Library on Thursday 12 December from 11:00am – 12 noon.

Wear your favourite Christmas jumper and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in aid of Save the Children. Many other libraries will also be hosting Christmas Jumper days so check out the full list for details (search for jumper in the events table).

Merry Mayhem: Family Funday Extravaganza
Ballymena Central Library on Friday 13 December from 2:30pm – 4:30pm.

Crafts, scavenger hunts, face painting and games await the whole family.

Christmas Family Fun Day
Holywood Arches Library on Saturday 14 December from 10:00am – 1:30pm.

A day of fun for the whole family with face painting, toys, and giant board games.

Christmas Murder Mystery Game
Banbridge Library on Tuesday 17 December from 6:15pm – 8:00pm.

Adults are invited to come along and solve a festive mystery. Places are limited, so book early!

Christmas Surprise Storytime
Antrim Library on Wednesday 18 December from 3:15pm – 4:15pm.

Join us for a special Storytime with a surprise visitor - perfect for families!

Christmas Bedtime Story
Crossmaglen Library on Wednesday 18 December from 6:00pm – 7:00pm.

Bring your PJs and favourite teddy for bedtime stories by the tree.

Festive Christmas Choir Performance
Coleraine Library on Wednesday 4 December from 11:15am.

Enjoy beautiful Christmas carols performed by Ballysally Primary School.
