Libraries NI Book Sale at Bangor Carnegie Library
Published 24 Mar 2026
Following the success of last year’s event, Libraries NI is bringing its popular Book Sale back, this time to Bangor Carnegie Library.
Readers of all ages are invited to come along to The Curve at Bangor Carnegie on Saturday 25 April, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, for a morning dedicated to browsing and bagging great reads.
The event offers visitors the opportunity to purchase a tote bag and fill it with their choice of pre-loved books for just £8 for library members and £10 for non-members. With a wide range of genres on offer, there will be plenty to browse for readers of all ages and interests.
All books at the sale have been thoughtfully selected from library stock that has been withdrawn as part of the stock management process, an essential part of maintaining an up-to-date and well-used library collection. Rather than being recycled, these titles are being recirculated to the public, giving well-loved books a new life with readers.
Libraries NI staff will be on hand throughout the morning to welcome visitors, answer questions and sign up new members. Library membership is free, and anyone joining on the day will be able to take advantage of the reduced member price for their tote bag of books.
Sian Cairns, Senior Services Manager with Libraries NI, said:
"Last year’s Book Sale proved hugely popular, with people enjoying the chance to browse a wide range of titles and take home a bag full of books. It’s a great way to give withdrawn library books a second life while encouraging people to keep reading and supporting the sustainable reuse of books."
With plenty of interest expected following last year’s sale, visitors are encouraged to come early to enjoy the best selection.
Come early, grab a tote bag and give a new home to a stack of great stories.
