Local Libraries Return to Winter Opening Hours

Winter opening hours will be in operation across the network of libraries from Monday 1 September, with late nights available once again for customers.

Have Your Say on the Future of Ballycastle Library
Ballycastle Library is set to undergo refurbishment this autumn, and local residents are being invited to have their say on the plans. A Community Feedback Session will take place in Ballycastle Library on Thursday 4 September, with members of the public welcome to drop in anytime between 1:00pm and 7:00pm.

Temporary Closure of Ballycastle Library for Refurbishment Work
Ballycastle Library will close for approximately four weeks from Monday 8 September for refurbishment. Nearby libraries remain open and online services are available.

Blue Plaque unveiled at Falls Road Library to commemorate poet Padraic Fiacc
Our libraries are home to a number of Ulster History Circle commemorative plaques, including to mathematician Robert Adrain at Carrickfergus Library, the Milligan Sisters at Omagh Library, Dr George Sigerson at Strabane Library and a plaque commemorating the actor J G Devlin on Falls Road Library. Yesterday a new Blue Plaque was unveiled on Falls Road Library to commemorate the life and works of poet Padraic Fiacc.

Newcastle Library Temporary Closure for Essential Maintenance
Due to essential maintenance works, Newcastle Library will be closed on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 August. It will also be closed on Monday 25 August due to the Bank Holiday and will reopen at 1:00pm on Tuesday 26 August, with book loan periods extended until then to cover the temporary closure.
