Carryduff Library is delighted to host an exclusive evening with Linda Hagan, the renowned local author of the popular DCI Gawn Girvin series. This free event, taking place on Wednesday 20 November from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, invites readers and crime fiction enthusiasts to meet the author and learn more about her feisty detective, DCI Gawn Girvin, who tackles complex cases in the heart of Belfast City.
Linda Hagan, known for her engaging storytelling and intricate plots, will share insights into her writing journey, the inspirations behind her books, and what it takes to create compelling characters and thrilling narratives. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session, get their books signed, and gain a deeper understanding of the creative process behind this beloved detective series.

Discover the Language and Culture of Mandarin at Ormeau Road Library
Ormeau Road Library is offering local residents the chance to explore a new language this June with a free two-part Introduction to Mandarin course for adult beginners. Delivered in partnership with The Open University, the workshops will be led by tutor Ximena Arias-Manzano and will introduce participants to the basics of Mandarin Chinese, including elements of both language and cultural understanding.

Omagh Library Creative Space
Libraries NI is offering local artists, designers, photographers etc. a unique opportunity to use a Creative Space rent free to 31 March 2026. Libraries NI is providing a space of over 16 square metres in Omagh Regional Administration Centre. The space can be used for creative purposes, as a workshop or studio. As stated there will be no rent requirements and all utilities are supplied free of charge. The successful candidate will only need to supply all their own equipment and materials.
