programme of events in Ballymena Central Library this OctoberLibraries NI is hosting an exciting programme of events in Ballymena Central Library this October, as part of the Creative Ireland, Shared Island Project. From storytelling and music to conversation and exhibitions, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Seen: Stories of Childhood, Hope and Belonging
Running from Tuesday 7 October to Friday 31 October during library opening hours, this exhibition showcases powerful artwork and storytelling by children in the asylum system, created with artist Kate Nicholl, illustrator Oliver Jeffers and the Anaka Women’s Collective.

Weaving Words with Liz Weir
Join Libraries NI’s Storyteller in Residence, Liz Weir MBE, on Thursday 9 October from 3:00pm to 4:00pm for an afternoon of captivating tales exploring history, identity and community.

Live and Local: Tiernan Heffron Unplugged
Experience the talent of singer-songwriter Tiernan Heffron with a live acoustic set on Thursday 9 October from 4:30pm to 5:00pm.

From Story to Spotlight: Jan Carson and Jamie Beamish in Conversation
Award-winning novelist Jan Carson and acclaimed actor Jamie Beamish will reflect on their creative journeys in an evening of honest and inspiring conversation on Friday 10 October from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

Watercolour Wonders: A Creative Workshop
Unleash your creativity in a hands-on workshop led by a local artist and supported by the Northern Trust. Learn brush techniques, colour blending and simple compositions, and leave with your own unique piece of art. All materials are provided. This event takes place on Saturday 18 October from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Booking essential.
