Rediscover the Joy of Traditional Butter Making in Cookstown Library
Published 03 Apr 2025
Step back in time and learn all about a traditional skill in Cookstown Library this April with a special reminiscence workshop, “Butter Making the Old Fashioned Way”.
This free event on Monday 7 April from 10:30am – 11:30am, will be facilitated by well-known local man Fred Faulkner and is perfect for those who enjoy heritage or want to hear all about a taste of the past.
Discover how butter was made in days gone by, hear memories from the local area and watch as Fred demonstrates the final processes of preparing the butter for sale using a churn.
It’s a great opportunity to connect with others, learn something new, and celebrate the everyday traditions that once played a big part in local life.
