Forget Me Not by Claire Allan
Elizabeth, an elderly lady is walking her dog on a sunny morning when she finds the badly mutilated body of Clare, a young woman who lives locally. She lives long enough to whisper “warn them” before she dies. Her body is found with a bunch of forget me nots. During police investigations it emerges that her close friends Rachel and Julie may also be at risk. When the friends last met Clare she had been very happy and was about to introduce Rachel and Julie to her new boyfriend. The story is told jointly through Elizabeth and Rachel. Both realise in their own way that covering up of past mistakes however trivial can have disastrous consequences.
This is a psychological thriller which will have you gripped from the beginning. The atmosphere of tension and suspense is maintained throughout, characters withhold information, doubts and suspicions are aroused and twists and turns abound. A highly recommended read.
