The Lido

The Lido by Libby Page

Pensioner Rosemary Peterson has lived in Brixton all her life. Twentysomething Kate Matthews has just moved there and feels desperately alone. Rosemary’s world is slowly disappearing – the local library where she once worked has closed. The grocery store has gone and now the Lido, the swimming baths that she has frequented since the day and hour they opened is under threat from local developers and planners.

Kate was once a promising writer but is now assigned to writing forgettable pieces for the local rag – a soul destroying job unworthy of her obvious talents. However when she gets wind of the potential closure of The Lido she smells a story worth telling. Hers and Rosemary’s lives soon intertwine in ways neither would have thought possible beforehand.

This uplifting, cross generational story will leave you smiling and wanting more!
