The Serial Killer's Wife by Alice Hunter
I loved this book. It’s a really brilliant read that had me gripped from the first page till the last. I did not want to put it down.
It all starts with the police knocking on Beth Hardcastle's door and the police taking her husband Tom in for questioning, they say he has murdered his ex-girlfriend and as the story develops, they say he has murdered more. Beth is distraught, her once perfect life is now falling apart and she has to deal with the looks and comments from those in their small village, as well as hatred, danger and the media camping out on her doorstep. She is terrified of the impact this will have on her three-year-old daughter Poppy.
We get to read it from Beth and Tom and then it goes back in time to Tom before and Katie, his ex-girlfriend that he has been accused of murdering. It is obvious that things are not as they seem, and Beth is not as innocent as she appears.
I enjoyed it so much, so many interesting, unhinged characters. Will definitely be reading the other two books in the serial killer family series.
