Mellon Centre for Migration Studies
This research library is located at the Ulster American Folk Park outside Omagh. It houses a large collection of books, journals and maps on the subject of Irish migration. It has also developed the Irish Emigration Database, an electronic collection of primary source documents on Irish emigration to the USA and Canada in the 18th and 19th centuries. Included are emigrant letters, passenger lists, shipping news, family papers and newspaper articles.
The collection also contains material reflecting in part the main interests of the museum in which it is located including vernacular buildings, agriculture, textiles, crafts, folklife, music, transport and museum studies.
