About Jillian

Jillian is the Stock and Reader Development Services Manager for Libraries NI and has been working in libraries for many years. Having previously lived in the Canary Islands from the age of six, her parents encouraged her love of reading from an early age and organised regular monthly deliveries of books for Jillian from ‘back home’. Upon returning to Northern Ireland to study for her library exams, she began work first in Bangor Carnegie Library and then later moving around a host of others, from Holywood to Newtownbreda, to Ballymena Central to Carrickfergus Library where she was Branch Library Manager before joining the Stock Team.

During her time working in libraries and also in her own free time, Jillian has hosted numerous Reading Groups, loves to visit libraries when on holiday and finds it hard to pass a bookshop without having a wee mooch about. She enjoys reading all sorts of books, mostly fiction, and can have two or three on the go at once so has plenty of interesting thoughts about a diverse range of genres and has her finger on the pulse on all things book related going on in Northern Ireland and further afield.
