James Murphy is a Northern Irish crime fiction writer, best known for his Belfast-based Farset Investigations detective series.

He has recently launched a new series of psychological thrillers with Write Me A Murder, introducing investigative psychologist Dr Carolyn Harkin.

Alongside his writing, James teaches crime fiction writing classes and is an active member of the Crime Writers’ Association. He currently serves as Master Convenor of the Irish Chapter and as Library Champion for Northern Ireland, supporting the role libraries play in connecting readers and writers.
