Chatterbooks Junior Reading Group  
To be held monthly on a Saturday 12 (specific dates, please contact the library) from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Booking is essential.

Chatterbooks is an exciting Junior Reading Group where children aged 7 - 11 years can come along to chat about their favourite books, enjoy fun activities and crafts and meet new friends.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Tuesday from 10:30am to 11:00am.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Knit and Natter  
Weekly every Tuesday from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Irish Language Conversation  
Ballycastle Library invites you to come along and join our weekly Irish Language Conversation group which takes place every Thursday from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers  
Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.
 
Every Friday from 2:15pm - 4:30pm.

Adult Reading Group  
Second Monday of every month from 11:00am – 12 noon.
 
This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Lego Club  
Every Monday from 3:15pm to 4:15pm.
 
For children aged 5 - 10 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
Come along to have some Lego building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Ancient Civilisations - Storytime and Viking Craft  

Ballycastle Library invites children aged 4-8 years to come along and enjoy our themed Storytime and Viking Craft, as we commemorate the female Viking Warrior Bones discovered on Rathlin Island.

Papercraft and Scrapbooking Session  

As part of our Summer Activities, Ballycastle Library invites you to come along for a fun filled morning of Papercraft and Scrapbooking. Join our friendly staff and avail of our craft resources, as we work together to create a wonderful piece. Everyone Welcome.

History and Mythology Talk and Swan Craft  

As part of Big Summer Read, Ballycastle Library invites you to come along and learn more about the local history of Ballycastle's Castle and local Fairy-tales. Embrace the magical even more with our delightful 'Swan Making' craft, using our craft resources available.

Industrious Past - Themed Storytime and Potato Basket Craft  

The Big Summer Read fun continues as we invite you to come along and learn more about Ballycastle's industrious past featuring the early 20th century Toy Factory.

Then be sure to take part in all fun and create a replica 'Potato Basket' from paper with the guidance of our friendly staff.

Create Your Own Lego Space Creature Craft  

Ballycastle Library invites children aged 4-8 years to come along and learn  more about Space and time travel before taking on our challenge to create a Lego Robot, Space fish, Alien or something even more out of this world.

Auld Lammas Fair - Themed Storytime and Horse Craft  

The Big Summer Read meets the Auld Lammas Fair as Ballycastle Library invites you to come along and join us to celebrate the oldest fair in Ireland by listening to animal themed stories and then take part our craft to create your very own horse, fit for the fair.
