Junior Storytime  

Storytime sessions help children aged 4 - 8 years develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

 

Suitable for children aged 4-8 years; children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Tuesday and Saturday between 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Adult Reading Group  

First Tuesday of every month between 2:30pm – 3:30pm.

This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Thursday from 10:30am - 11:00am

Booking is essential.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Conversation Station  

Weekly every Thursday from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.

Come along to our weekly Conversation Station to socialise, chat, make friends and discuss community and local information over a nice cuppa.

Chatterbooks is an exciting Junior Reading Group where children aged 7 - 11 years can come along to chat about their favourite books, enjoy fun activities and crafts and meet new friends.

Your Past in Print' Exhibition  

Cushendall Library is delighted to host the 'Your Past in Print' Exhibition. This exhibition showcases our newspaper collections using images and articles from historical newspapers. Everyone Welcome. Available to view during opening hours.

Big Summer Read - 'Plant a Poem' Craft  

Cushendall Library invites children aged 4-8 years to come along and start their Big Summer Reading journey with our 'Plant a Poem' craft. Join our friendly library staff who will guide you as you decorate your very own plant pot and create a special poem to attach to your plant pot, using our craft resources available.

The Big Summer Read fun continues as Cushendall Library invites children aged 4-8 years to come along and enjoy our 'Pom Pom Cupcake' and 'Woodland Creature Collage' Crafts. Inspired by our selection of baking and animal books, join our library staff as they guide you through these crafts, using our selection of craft resources available. Heart of the Glens Festival - Children's Storytime Session with Liz Weir  

To celebrate the Heart of the Glens Festival, Cushendall Library is delighted to welcome the wonderful Liz Weir from Armstrong Storytelling Trust to come along and deliver a magical storytelling session for all the family to enjoy.

Big Summer Read - 'Two Way Paper Tube' Craft  

The Big Summer Read in August sees Cushendall Library invite children aged 4 - 8 years accompanied by an adult to come and take part in our 'Two Way Paper Tube' Craft. Using provided paper tubes, our friendly staff will provide you with instructions on how to turn your paper tube into a stamper first before then turning into an owl for display in our very own 'Big Summer Read' Tree.

Big Summer Read - 'Book Character Dress Up and Treasure Hunt'  

The Big Summer Read concludes in Cushendall Library, as we invite children aged 2+ years accompanied by an adult to pick a costume from our 'Book Character' dress up rail before embarking on a fun filled treasure hunt with our friendly library staff, to find all your favourite book characters who are hidden in the library.
