Adult Reading Group  
Second Monday of every month from 11:00am – 12 noon.
 
This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Chatterbooks Junior Reading Group  
To be held monthly on a Saturday 12 (specific dates, please contact the library) from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Booking is essential.

Chatterbooks is an exciting Junior Reading Group where children aged 7 - 11 years can come along to chat about their favourite books, enjoy fun activities and crafts and meet new friends.

Knit and Natter  

Please contact the library for dates.

A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. Share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Bring whatever you are working on at the moment or start a new project.

Irish Language Conversation  
Ballycastle Library invites you to come along and join our weekly Irish Language Conversation group which takes place every Thursday from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers  
Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.
 
Every Friday from 2:15pm - 4:30pm.

Lego Club  
Every Monday from 3:15pm to 4:15pm.
 
For children aged 5 - 10 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
Come along to have some Lego building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Tuesday from 10:30am to 11:00am.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Weekly every Tuesday from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Shakespeare Week - 'My Shakespeare Challenge Booklet' Activity Day  

To celebrate Shakespeare Week 2025, Ballycastle Library invites children aged 7 - 11 years to come along and take part in our Activity Day where you will be able to chose from our selection of 'My Shakespeare Challenge' Booklets. Complete the challenges in the booklets you choose and learn more about the wonderful world of Shakespeare. 

Children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Available during normal opening hours. Booking is not required.

Mother’s Day Agamograph - Children's Craft Session  

Ballycastle Library invites children aged 4-9 years to join our friendly Library Staff for a fun filled Mother's Day Agamograph craft. Come along and show off your artwork skills and take hope a lovely keepsake gift for Mum or a loved one to enjoy.
