Seed Library |
New Seed Library in Larne library using repurposed card catalogue furniture. As well as offering free seeds, the seed libraries also offer growing instructions and advice. The aim of these projects is to promote a ‘borrow, grow, donate’ ethos in local communities and to work with gardening groups to bring the pleasures of growing from seed to a wider audience. Available during library opening hours. |

Book Buddies |
Find your book buddy in our box of cuddly toys or dress up from our fancy dress box to help you find your books to read. Cuddly toys and fancy dress clothes stay in library until your next visit. Available during library opening hours. |

Rhythm and Rhyme |
Every Monday from 11:00am to 11:30am. Booking is essential. Will open by phone on Friday at 10:00am for the following week's session and will be on first come first served basis. Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories. Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun! |

Tea and Newspapers |
Every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00am to 12 noon. Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits. |

Knit and Natter |
Every Wednesday from 11:00am to 12 noon. Numbers limited, contact staff for details. Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new. |

Visit our free drop-in service - no appointment needed. Can help with: Hearing aids, including basic repairs and maintenance of NHS hearing aids, information on hearing loss and tinnitus, how to do a hearing check, and how to access support and services in your area.

Libraries Connecting People: Loneliness Awareness Week 2025 |
Spend a day of kindness and connection at Larne Library as part of Loneliness Awareness Week. Contribute to our Kindness Postbox with a heartfelt card or drawing for an older person in care. Join a guided historical walk through Larne at 11:00am, then enjoy a live performance at 1pm by the Roddensvale School Choir. From 2:00pm–4:00pm, take part in a relaxing watercolour workshop suitable for all levels, led by Helen Bradbury (booking essential).
Information panels will be available throughout the day from Access Employment Larne, Mae Murray Foundation and other local support groups. One-to-one advisory sessions with the Connect North Link Worker will also be available from 11:00am–4:00pm by appointment. |
