Seed Library  
New Seed Library in Larne library using repurposed card catalogue furniture.

As well as offering free seeds, the seed libraries also offer growing instructions and advice. The aim of these projects is to promote a ‘borrow, grow, donate’ ethos in local communities and to work with gardening groups to bring the pleasures of growing from seed to a wider audience.

Book Buddies  
Find your book buddy in our box of cuddly toys or dress up from our fancy dress box to help you find your books to read.

Cuddly toys and fancy dress clothes stay in library until your next visit.

Quiet Sensory play in our Sensory Room  

Bring your child/children along to visit the library, borrow books and avail of the toys in our quiet sensory room.

Cryptic Colour Corner  
Available daily during library opening hours.

Why not challenge yourself to a puzzle or relax with a colouring sheet.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Monday from 11:00am to 11:30am.

Booking is essential. Will open by phone on Friday at 10:00am for the following week's session and will be on first come first served basis.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Sewing Box  
Every Tuesday from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Knit and Natter  
Every Wednesday from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Numbers limited, contact staff for details.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Meets on the last Thursday of the month, from 4:45pm - 5:45pm.
 
The Adult Reading Group for 16's and over gives an opportunity for adults to discuss their latest book.

MV Princess Victoria Exhibition  

An exhibition commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the loss of the MV Princess Victoria in 1953. The day after the tragedy, Larne was a town in mourning.

The little garden bird the Robin  

Learn some interesting facts about the little garden bird the Robin. Also a special story about a little Robin who lives in Bobby's garden. Finishing off with make your own little Robin to take home and a little bag of bird seed to take home to feed your little garden Robin when you spy them in your garden or park.

Children 4-8 years much be accompanied by an adult.

St Patrick’s Day Shamrock Craft and Storytime  

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day with a story and create your own 3D paper hanging shamrock to take home. Each leaf has a special meaning: the first helps people feel brave, the second helps people be kind, and the third encourages you to believe in yourself.

Children aged 6-8 years; children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.
