Go On Computer Classes  

Go On events are computer and tablet skills classes for adults to help with everyday tasks.

Modules cover these five basic digital skills: communicating online, handling information and content, transacting online, problem-solving online, and being safe and legal online.

BBC Louis MacNeice Exhibition  

Libraries NI is proud to be hosting an exhibition on loan from BBC NI on the influential Belfast poet and broadcaster Louis MacNeice. Born in Belfast in 1907, MacNeice was one of the foremost poets of his generation and an accomplished broadcaster, enjoying a distinguished career at the BBC.
The exhibit, consisting of 15 large panels, will be hosted on the 2nd floor of Lisburn City Library throughout May.

Knit and Natter (Friday)  
Takes place every Friday from 10:00am - 12 noon.

A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. Share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Bring whatever you are working on at the moment or start a new project.

Tea and Newspapers  

Every Friday from 10:00am - 12:00noon.

 

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

All Twisted Up: An Exhibition by Benjamin Boyes  

Benjamin Boyes is a self taught Paper Quiller and artist. Based in Lambeg, Benjamin has been working hard to perfect his Quilling craft, turning paper coils into vibrant art and jewellery. 
Benjamin wants to revitalise the paper quilling craft in Northern Ireland. This nearly forgotten art form has seen a resurgence in recent years and is especially popular in Asian countries. Paper quilling is versatile and has many applications if you have the patience.

Takes place on Wednesday each week.
 
2:30pm – 3:00pm
 
Storytime sessions help children aged 4 - 8 years develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.
 
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories; children must be accompanied by an adult.
 
Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman  

Lisburn City Library is delighted to welcome the Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO), who will be hosting an information stand in the library. 
The NIPSO investigates complaints about public services in Northern Ireland. If you feel you have been treated unfairly by a public body, NIPSO provides a free, independent service to review your complaint. Their presence in Lisburn City Library will provide an opportunity for the local community to learn more by meeting the NIPSO Policy and Engagement Team.
