CUSTOMER NOTICE - Bank Holiday Closures

All Libraries NI’s public and mobile libraries will be closed on Saturday 12, Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 July. Libraries will reopen on Wednesday 16 July. 

The Out of Hours service will be closed from Friday 11 July until Tuesday 15 July inclusive reopening on Wednesday 16 July in Out of Hours libraries.

Please remember that eServices (eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers) are available during this period, and joining online is free.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Monday from 10:45am to 11:15am.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Knit and Natter  
Every Tuesday from 6:00pm to 7:15pm.

Booking is essential.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Wednesday from 11:00am to 1:00pm

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Lego Club (on Fridays)  
Every Friday from 2.30pm – 3.30pm.  Booking is not required.
 
For children aged 5-10, all children attending this event must be accompanied by an adult.

Portrush Library invites you to come along to our fortnightly Gardening Club, please call the library for dates, to learn, share and discuss all things gardening.

Travelling Trees' Garvagh Forest Photographic Exhibition  

Portrush Library is delighted to host the 'Travelling Trees' Garvagh Forest Photographic Exhibition, kindly provided by the Garvagh and District Development Association. Consisting of a range of stunning wooden tree displays containing images showcasing the plant, bird and wildlife of the forest, we invite you to come along and view this exhibit, giving people the chance to see the variety, intricacy and beauty of the natural world while capturing the Heritage moments of time from those who have enjoyed the forest. Everyone Welcome. Available to view During Opening Hours.

Big Summer Read - The Great Reveal Launch  

The wait is over! The Big Summer Read is finally here! Join us in Portrush Library for our launch event with bunting, balloons and lots more! Books will transport you this summer, travelling through different times, from the land of the dinosaurs to the moon and back again! Collect your passport and let the adventure begin!

As part of Big Summer Read, Portrush Library invites children aged 4-11 years to come along and join us for lots of roaring fun with our make your own dinosaur themed craft. Will it be a stegosaurus, T-Rex, brontosaurus or a triceratops?

Calling all would-be astronauts! As part of Big Summer Read, Portrush Library invites children aged 4-11 years to come along and join us for a  'Rockin Rocket' craft session using recycled materials, that will be fit to blast off and soar around the universe.
