Teenage Reading Group (Monthly)  

Once a month on a Tuesday from 5:00pm - 6:00pm.

 

Junior Reading Groups are a fun way for children to be introduced to a wide range of new books, authors and to make new friends along the way. Members are asked to read a chosen book before each meeting, which will be available to borrow for free from the library catalogue.

Duplo play  

Come along and have fun building Duplo! Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

This fun event is for children 1-4 years and takes place on Tuesday Mornings.

Children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Rhythm and Rhyme is an exciting free programme to introduce children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories in the library. Rhythm and Rhyme is a great opportunity for children to have fun and learn in a relaxed venue while giving parents and carers the chance to socialise.

Knit and Natter  

Every Friday from 10:00am - 12 noon.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

The Happy Prince: Family Volunteering Event  

Join us in Enniskillen Library, alongside Volunteer NOW, for this free family event based on the tale of the golden swallow from Oscar Wilde's ‘The Happy Prince’. We will be making crafts, listening to the story, chilling out with some games, and hosting a pop-up family volunteering activity. Families will have the opportunity to help put together ‘care packages’ for people experiencing loneliness in our community. 

11:00am-11:20am: Storytelling session - learn about the story of The Happy Prince.
11:20am - 12 noon: Craft activity - make your own golden swallow for your family.
11:30am - 1:00pm: Pop-up volunteering activity. Families are invited to help to put ‘care packages’ together using lavender pouches and card making materials.
12 noon - 1:00pm: Chill out in our ‘Family Switch Off’ area with games, refreshments and screen free activities.

All are welcome and no booking is required.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Adult Reading Group  

The Adult Reading Group for 16's and over gives an opportunity for adults to discuss their latest book.

Empathy Superpower Glasses!  

Pop into Enniskillen Library during opening hours to celebrate Empathy Day with this free children's activity. Children can create their own Empathy Superpower Glasses and have fun seeing the world through someone else's eyes.

Big Summer Read 2026 launch  

Join us here in Enniskillen Library as we launch our Big Summer Read 2026! Find out all about ‘The Story Tree’ and how you can grow your reading over the summer. Listen to some nature themed stories and have a go at making your own ‘Story Tree’ with our paper craft activity.

The magic of the Firebird  

Join us in Enniskillen Library for this free event as part of our Big Summer Read. We will explore the magical folk tale of the Firebird which inspired Stravinsky’s ‘Firebird Suite’. There will be music, movement and lots of imagination as we learn about this fantastic adventure story! Followed by a paper craft activity for children to make their own Firebird.

Floating with water lilies  

A painting can tell many stories. Come and listen to the beautiful story by Laurence Anholt ‘The Magical Garden of Claude Monet’. We will be bringing the story and painting to life by making our own water lily craft.

We're going on a chaffy hunt!  

Our junior members can help us find all the chaffies that are hiding in the library. Based on the cute characters in Jamie Smart’s ‘Max & Chaffy’ graphic novel series, these small mischievous creatures have hidden themselves all around our children’s area. Pick up a clue sheet at the customer service desk and see if you can find them all!

Step into your own comic adventure with this free, fun event as part of our Big Summer Read here in Enniskillen Library. Have you ever noticed that when a character in a comic book has something to say, the artist uses a word balloon or a speech bubble? We will be making our own word balloon selfie props so you can start your own comic book story.

Standing On One Leg is Hard! Storytime and DrawAlong with author/illustrator Clive McFarland  

Join illustrator Clive McFarland for a reading of his picture book ‘Standing On One Leg is Hard’, discover fun animal facts, and learn how to draw your very own heron chick!


Standing On One Leg is Hard tells the story of a little heron chick who is trying HARD to be like the grown-up herons who stand so gracefully on one leg. But she just CAN'T do it! Maybe she just needs a little help?


Clive McFarland was raised in Omagh, Co Tyrone and graduated from the Liverpool School of Art and Design. He is an author and illustrator of several other picture books, including A Bed for BearCaterpillar Dreams and The Fox and the Wild.
