Tea and Newspapers  
Every Friday from 10:30am to 12 noon.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

SureStart Stay and Sing with Me  

SureStart led song and dance session for babies and toddlers, accompanied by a parent/carer.

Saturday Storytime  

Storytime sessions help children aged 4 - 8 years develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Adult Reading Group  
First Tuesday of every month.
 
This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Monday from 10:30am to 11:00am.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Board Game Club  

Come along and play games with friends, for children aged 5 and over accompanied by an adult.

Knit and Natter  
Every Tuesday from 11:00am to 12:30pm.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Chatterbooks Junior Reading Group

Lego Club  
Every Wednesday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

Suitable for age 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Come along to have some Lego building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Short Story Reading Group  

This reading group focuses on short stories chosen beforehand by staff and read and discussed on the day.

The group encourages people to read for pleasure, share their enthusiasm and express opinions about books, stories, and authors. Tea/Coffee biscuits provided.

Loneliness Awareness Week - 'Conversation Café'  

In support of Loneliness Awareness Week, Dungiven Library invites you to come along to our 'Conversation  Café' event. Join us and spend time engaging with fellow library users and connecting together over a nice cuppa and sweet treat. Our friendly library staff will also be hosting some traditional board games for everyone to enjoy, as we focus on bringing the community together in the comfort of your local library.

Father's Day 'Card Making' Craft  

This Father's Day weekend, all children aged 4-12 are invited to join us at Dungiven Library for our Father's Day 'Card Making' Craft. Using our array of craft supplies, come make a special card ahead of the big day, to give to your loved one.

PCSP and PSNI Crime Prevention Road Show  

Dungiven Library is delighted to welcome the Causeway Coast and Glens Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) along with the PSNI, to host their Crime Prevention Roadshow. The roadshow is an opportunity for members of the public to avail of crime prevention advice from the local Crime Prevention Officer, meet local neighbourhood policing officers and engage with PCSP members to highlight any policing or community safety concerns they may have.

Big Summer Read -'World Cup Fever' Bingo and Craft Session  

The Big Summer Read kicks off in Dungiven Library, as children aged 4-11 years are invited to come along and join us for our 'World Cup Fever' Bingo and Craft Session. The fun begins with a round of 'World Cup' themed Bingo, led by our library staff. Next, we invite you to get creative and 'Design your own Football Shirt' using our selection of craft resources.

Big Summer Read - 'Mystery Scavenger Hunt'  

Children aged 4-11 years are invited to come along to Dungiven library for a session of library scavenging, cryptic clues and puzzle solving as part of the Big Summer Read. Join our library staff and get ready to play Detective as you pick up your clues and help us solve the mystery.

Big Summer Read - 'Revv it up!' Festival 'Tractor Parade' Craft  

It's the week of the local 'Revv it up' Festival in Dungiven and to celebrate, Dungiven Library invites children aged 4-11 years to come along and practice their art skills with a fun craft session in conjunction with Big Summer Read.  Join us and help to make a 'Tractor Parade' for the library's front window using an assortment of our craft resources available.

Big Summer Read - 'How does your Garden Grow?' Craft  

The week Dungiven Library's Big Summer Read activity is 'science' and we'll be looking at how seeds grow. Children aged 4-11 years are invited to join and help us build our own miniature front garden (complete with a house façade), which over the coming weeks, we'll water the seeds we plant and watch the garden grow.

Big Sumer Read is doing 'Comics and Manga' at Dungiven Library, as we invite children aged 6+ years to come along and get creative in our 'Comic Book Adventure' Workshop. Join us and learn how to make your own comic book story from scratch using our selection of craft resources available.

Love a good joke?  At Dungiven Library, we're inviting children aged 6+ years along to our 'Comedy Graffiti' Workshop to share all your favourite jokes on our 'Joke Wall'.  We'll have some great joke books on hand too to get you inspired, and plenty of markers so you can practice those graffiti skills and share your jokes on our wall.  12 noon - 1:00pm

Shiver me Timbers! How good are you at reading maps and finding hidden treasure?  Children aged 4-11 years are invited to come to Dungiven Library and get yourself into pirate mode as we lay on a fun pirate treasure hunt in our library from 11:30am - 1:30pm.

PRONI On Tour Event  

Dungiven Library looks forward to welcoming the team from PRONI (Public Record Office for Northern Ireland) into the library, for a unique opportunity to chat with the team about research, learn how to use PRONI resources and view original documents which will be on display during the event.

Big Summer Read - 'And her name was Finvola…'  

… the Gem of the Roe!' If you are from the Dungiven area, we're sure you'll have heard the song, and you'll most certainly have spied the statue of Finvola at the front of our library. So for History week in the Big Summer Read, we'll be holding a children's workshop based around the history of Finvola, for children aged 4+ years accompanied by an adult to come along and join all the fun including storytelling, colouring in and a sing-a-long to end our event.

Big Summer Read - 'Animal Mask Mania' Craft  

Big Summer Read wraps up in Dungiven Library with our 'Animal Mask Mania' Craft, as we invite children aged 4-11 years, children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult, to come along and join this fun craft session where we'll be making animal masks. Will you be a tiger, a dog or a bird - it's your chance to go wild with your creativity!

Out of Hours Service

The Out of Hours Service allows adults (aged 18 years and over) controlled access to Dungiven Library for an additional 34 hours per week outside of normal opening hours.
Registered members can access a limited but important range of services on a self-service basis, including broadband/Wi-Fi access, printing facilities, study space and book borrowing. To register, just call in or contact the library during normal opening hours and ask staff for details.
