Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Seed Social  

Garvagh Library invites you to come along to our monthly Seed Social Club to learn and share tips on seeds and gardening and to socialise with friends while enjoying a nice cuppa together.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Saturday from 10:00am to 10:30am.
 
Everyone welcome.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Duplo Club  

Every Saturday from 10:30am to 11:30am.

 

For children aged 1 – 6 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
Come along to have some Duplo building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Knit and Natter  
Every Tuesday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
 
Everyone welcome.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Lego Club  

Every Tuesday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.

For children aged 4 - 10 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.

Storytime  

Weekly, every Saturday from 2:30pm to 3.00pm. Suitable for ages 4-8 years; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Storytime sessions help children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Chatterbooks  

Chatterbooks is an exciting Junior Reading Group where children aged 9 - 11 years can come along to chat about their favourite books, enjoy fun activities and crafts and meet new friends.

NI Science Festival - Butterfly Life Cycle Craft  

As part of NI Science Festival, Garvagh library invites all budding biologists aged 4-10 to join us in our Butterfly Life Cycle craft. Led by our lovely library staff, we will discover the phases a butterfly goes through in this scientific craft. 

From 11:30am – 12:30pm

World Book Day - 'My Favourite Book' Craft  

This World Book Day, Garvagh Library invites bookworms aged 4-10 to join us for our 'My Favourite Book' Craft. Lead by our lovely library staff, in this bookish craft you will create a mini version of yourself reading your favourite book! 

Fancy dress strongly encouraged from 3:00pm – 4:00pm

World Book Day - 'Gruffalo Craft'  

Let’s keep the fun of World Book Day going! Garvagh Library invites little readers aged 3-8 to join us for our Gruffalo craft. Using our array of craft resources, create your own Gruffalo from Julia Donaldson’s popular series. 

From 11:30am – 12:30pm, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Reminiscence Scrapbook Evening  

As part of Heritage Week, Garvagh Library welcomes adults to our Reminiscence Scrapbook Evening. Settle in with a cup of tea and a biscuit and reminisce as you explore scrapbooks filled with memories from Garvagh’s rich local history.
