Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Seed Social  

Garvagh Library invites you to come along to our monthly Seed Social Club to learn and share tips on seeds and gardening and to socialise with friends while enjoying a nice cuppa together.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Saturday from 10:00am to 10:30am.
 
Everyone welcome.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Duplo Club  

Every Saturday from 10:30am to 11:30am.

 

For children aged 1 – 6 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
Come along to have some Duplo building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Knit and Natter  
Every Tuesday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
 
Everyone welcome.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Travelling Trees' Garvagh Forest Photographic Exhibition  

Garvagh Library is delighted to host the 'Travelling Trees' Garvagh Forest Photographic Exhibition, kindly provided by the Garvagh and District Development Association. Consisting of a range of stunning wooden tree displays containing images showcasing the plant, bird and wildlife of the forest, we invite you to come along and view this exhibit, giving people the chance to see the variety, intricacy and beauty of the natural world while capturing the Heritage moments of time from those who have enjoyed the forest.

Big Summer Read - 'Bookworm Bookmark'  

Garvagh Library welcomes all time travelling bookworms aged 4-11 to join us for our Bookworm Bookmark craft.

 

This week of the Big Summer Read is The Bookworm’s Time Machine – Reading Through the Ages! While it’s easy to get lost in a good book, with our crafty little bookmark, you can always find your place.

Beach Day Watercolour  

As part of our Summer Activities, Garvagh Library invites adults to join us for a watercolour session focusing on beach landscapes. Recreate your favourite seaside sights in beautiful watercolour so you can display your beach day year round.

Big Summer Read - 'Design Your Own Book Cover'  

Garvagh Library invites all readers aged 4-11 to our Design Your Own Book Cover craft. It is Imagination Station week of our Big Summer Read, and after reading so many brilliant books, we think it’s time you got the chance to let your own story shine! Our friendly library staff will help you construct a cover that truly dazzles using our array of craft supplies. We know not to judge a book by its cover, but we’re sure yours is going to look amazing.

Closing Ceremony with Certificate Gifting and 'Time Travel Postcards'  

Garvagh Library welcomes children 4-11 to join us for our Big Summer Read Closing Ceremony.

 

You will be presented with your certificate and are invited to partake in our craft event to create a Time Travel Postcard.

 

What was your favourite era of your time travel reading journey?

 

Using our array of craft resources, design a beautiful postcard and write a message from that time to represent it!
