📢 CUSTOMER NOTICE - Bank Holidays Closure 📢

All public libraries in Northern Ireland will be closed on May Day, Monday 5 May and on the Spring Bank Holiday, Monday 26 May and Mobile Libraries will not be on the road on those dates. The Out of Hours Service will remain available on 5 May and 26 May in appropriate libraries. Remember that members have free access to eServices during this period. Register to become a Member.

Drop in to relax and escape with a cup of tea or coffee while reading local newspapers.

Mindful Colouring

Storytime

Evening Adult Book Group

Bedtime Stories  

2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 6:00pm - 6:30pm. 


Bring along your little ones in their favourite pyjamas to settle down and prepare for bedtime with our cosy bedtime stories. These sessions will take place fortnightly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month and is suitable for children up to 6 years old.

Junior Book Group  

3rd Thursday of the month from 3:45pm - 4:45pm.


We are currently taking names for our new Junior Reading Group which will take place on the 3rd Thursday of each month. This group would suit children aged 7 - 9 years. Please contact the branch if you are interested in signing up by calling 028 8952 1409.

Story, Tea and Chat: Shared Reading for Adults  

3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:30pm - 7:30pm.


Come along to a relaxed shared reading session were a story or some poems will be read aloud to the group and conversation encouraged on the themes that emerge. Everyone welcome and refreshments will be provided.

Knit and Natter  

Every Thursday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

 

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Online Yoga  

Every Thursday from 11:00 am to 12 noon.

 

The online yoga classes are streamed into the Mount Stewart Suite at Fivemiletown Library. These classes are accessible practices designed to reduce stress and help you feel connected.

 

The focus of the classes will be on intentional movement, breath awareness and relaxation techniques, making it suitable for all levels with no previous experience required.

Mental Health Awareness: Quiet Minds, Connected Pieces  

Relax and unwind during Mental Health Awareness Week with our community jigsaw in the Mount Stewart Suite. Puzzling helps reduce stress, improve focus, and promote calm through quiet connection.

Mental Health Awareness: My feelings, My Colours  

Emotions can be big and confusing — but art can help! In this fun, hands-on session, children will explore feelings through colouring, drawing, and matching activities using a special activity booklet. They’ll learn to recognise and name emotions, express themselves through art, and build early tools for emotional wellbeing — all in a relaxed, playful setting.

Mental Health Awareness: Big Feelings, Bedtime Stories  

Snuggle up for a gentle evening of stories that help little ones understand their big feelings. This special bedtime story session features beautifully chosen picture books that explore emotions like happiness, sadness, anger, and calm in a way children can understand. Perfect for winding down and opening up gentle conversations, this session encourages emotional awareness and empathy — all in your cosiest pyjamas.

 

For children aged 2-7 years accompanied by an adult.

Make The Call - Talk and Entitlement Check  

Make the Call advisor will be attending Fivemiletown Library to discuss accessing benefits, supports and services you may be entitled to. They will be doing a talk to the community followed by offering an entitlement check for attendees.

Elmer’s Big Birthday Bash!  

Join us for a patchwork party as we celebrate everyone’s favourite elephant — Elmer! This special family day is packed with fun activities inspired by the beloved book series. Whether you're little or just young at heart, there's something for everyone to enjoy! Activities include: Storytimes featuring Elmer’s best-loved adventures, “Pin the Tail on Elmer” game, Elmer Hide-and-Seek around the library, Make-your-own Elmer paper plate craft, Elmer colouring station. Come dressed in your brightest colours and help us make this the most colourful birthday bash ever!
