Online Yoga  

Every Thursday from 11:00 am to 12 noon.

 

The online yoga classes are streamed into the Mount Stewart Suite at Fivemiletown Library. These classes are accessible practices designed to reduce stress and help you feel connected.

 

The focus of the classes will be on intentional movement, breath awareness and relaxation techniques, making it suitable for all levels with no previous experience required.

Junior Book Group  

3rd Thursday of the month from 3:45pm - 4:45pm.


We are currently taking names for our new Junior Reading Group which will take place on the 3rd Thursday of each month. This group would suit children aged 7 - 9 years. Please contact the branch if you are interested in signing up by calling 028 8952 1409.

Tea and Newspapers  

Tuesdays from 2:30 - 4:00pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00am - 12 noon.


Drop in to relax and escape with a cup of tea or coffee while reading local newspapers.

Knit and Natter  

Every Thursday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

 

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Mindful Colouring  

Every Friday from 2:00pm - 5:00pm.


Drop into the branch between the hours above to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while doing some mindful colouring. Everyone welcome, booking is not required.

Every Saturday from 9:30am - 10:00am.


Join us for a fun and interactive session of songs and rhymes suitable for children aged 0-4 years. Everyone welcome.

Giraffe Bookmark Craft and Storytime  

Enjoy a laugh-out-loud reading of How to Bathe Your Giraffe by Sam Wilde, then make your own giraffe-shaped bookmark to keep your place in your next favourite read.

Ulster Voices: The William Carleton Society  

Hosted by Fivemiletown Library in association with the William Carleton Society, this day-long programme explores the literary legacy of some of Ulster’s most influential writers, including William Carleton, Benedict Kiely, Patrick Kavanagh, and W.F. Marshall. The event will feature talks by renowned speakers Paul Clements, Shaun O’Byrne, and William Anderson, as well as a panel discussion with members of the Carleton Committee. 

 

Tea and coffee will be provided, and an optional lunch is available at the Valley Hotel (advance notice required).

Create Your Own Chinese Lantern and Storytime  

Inspired by the magical Ning and the Night Spirits, this session explores light, courage, and creativity. After Storytime, children will make Chinese paper lanterns to take home.

Zoom Into Space – Rocket Craft and Story  

Blast off with Zoom by Sam Usher ! After the story, kids will make their own rocket ships to zoom around the library (or the living room!).

Sunflower Race: The Grand Finale — "Me vs. My Sunflower" Life-Size Height Chart  

Join us this August as we celebrate our young gardeners and their blooming achievements! We’ll award prizes for the tallest, bushiest, and most beautiful sunflowers—and kids can take part in a fun life-size activity to see how their sunflower’s height compares to their own. Whether your plant thrived or tried its best, all racers are welcome!

Crown Craft and Tale for Little Legends  
Celebrate Irish myths with The Magic Branch by Eithne Massey. After storytime, we’ll craft regal crowns fit for heroes and heroines using gems, leaves, and golden card.
