📢 CUSTOMER NOTICE - Bank Holidays Closure 📢

All public libraries in Northern Ireland will be closed on May Day, Monday 5 May and on the Spring Bank Holiday, Monday 26 May and Mobile Libraries will not be on the road on those dates. The Out of Hours Service will remain available on 5 May and 26 May in appropriate libraries. Remember that members have free access to eServices during this period. Register to become a Member.

Held on the 1st Tuesday of the month from 10:30am - 12:30am and the 3rd Thursday of the month from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.

Very Local History Group  
The very local history group meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 10.45am. It is open to anyone who is interested in local, social and industrial records contained in documents and photographs of past events.

Family History Group

Knit and Natter  

Every Tuesday from 1:30pm - 2:30pm.

 

Booking not required.

 

A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. Share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Bring whatever you are working on at the moment or start a new project.

Tea and Newspapers  

Every Wednesday from 11:00am - 12:30pm.

 

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Storytime  
Every Wednesday from 3:30pm - 4:00pm.

Storytime sessions help children aged 4 - 8 years develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Friday from 10:30am - 11:00am.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Rhythm and Rhyme is an exciting free programme to introduce children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories in the library. Rhythm and Rhyme is a great opportunity for children to have fun and learn in a relaxed venue while giving parents and carers the chance to socialise.

Junior Reading Group  

Last Monday of the month from 4:00pm - 5:00pm.

 

For children aged 9-11 years, booking advised.

Junior Reading Groups are a fun way for children to be introduced to a wide range of new books, authors and to make new friends along the way. Members are asked to read a chosen book before each meeting, which will be available to borrow for free from the library catalogue.

Fiction Writing group for Adults  

Whether you are working on a novel or a short story or just want to give fiction writing a try, this group for adults 18+ offers a chance to be around like-minded people, share ideas, get feedback, and simply take some time out of your day to write and unwind. 

All experience levels welcome.

 

Led by Cregagh Library’s writer-in-residence Christina Collins, supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

 

Refreshments provided. Held on the 2nd Monday of the month from 6:30pm - 7:30pm.
