CUSTOMER NOTICE - Easter Bank Holidays Closure 

All public libraries in Northern Ireland will be closed on Easter Monday, 6 April and Easter Tuesday, 7 April 2026 and Mobile Libraries will not be on the road. The Out of Hours Service will not be available on Saturday 4, Sunday 5, Easter Monday 6 and Easter Tuesday 7 April 2026.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Mindful Colouring  
Every Tuesday from 3:00pm - 4:00pm.

Mindful Colouring groups are for anyone who wants to explore the world of adult colouring with intricate colouring patterns and designs. They can enhance well-being, help calm the mind and relieve stress through relaxed, meditative colouring in.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Saturday from 10:00am - 12:00noon.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Knit and Natter  
Every Monday from 3:00pm - 4:00pm.

Open.

Knit and Natter groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

“A Wide Spectrum”, Art from the Spectrum Centre, Shankill Road  

Opening Event
Thursday 19 March at 6:00pm

 

“A Wide Spectrum” an exhibition of artwork created by arts facilitators from the Spectrum Centre at the Glasshouse Gallery, Shankill Library.
 
The exhibition is an opportunity for our arts facilitators, who give so much of their own creative spirit into encouraging our Spectrum Centre art class participants, to show their own work in a gallery setting within the community they teach.

“Ghosts of the Shankill”, A Feʹile an Phobail Event.  

Ghosts of the Shankill
Thursday 30 July at 1:00pm in Shankill Library

Mark Doherty, local historian, will give an illustrated talk about some fascinating figures who lie forgotten in the Shankill graveyard. He will draw out the connections with some notable individuals buried in Friars Bush graveyard. These accounts reveal surprising stories, unexpected links and hidden histories.

Organised by Falls Community Council, Shankill Women’s Centre, Act Initiative and Shankill Area Social History with Féile an Phobail.
