In April last I wrote to you with reference to Private M. Butler (No. 48116) asking if he was still in the Army, the reply was in the affirmative.

Since that month I have had no news from him and am therefore compelled to trouble you again and ask if he is still in the Army, and if not, when he left, and his present address if possible.
