Document Content:

Gentlemen,

As I have now been definitely retained for special duties with the Army of Occupation and the time of my return indefinitely postponed, I think it is proper for me to place my resignation of the post of librarian to the Falls Road Branch Library in your hands.

In doing so I cannot but express regret that I should have to terminate my association with work which was always made pleasant for me by the unfailing kindness of both the Library Committee & my fellow members of the staff.

I should like, Gentlemen, to offer my sincerest thanks for this kindness & to assure you that nothing but the needs & necessity of retention in the Army would have prevented me from returning to Belfast at once.

I have the honour to be,
Gentlemen,

Yours faithfully,

T. Coulson, Capt.
