Dear Sir,
Received your letter of 30.3.1916 for which I thank you.
The following answers to your queries are correct. 2. My pay at commencement of service was 1/2 per day, to which 4d per day was added a few months later. About the same time I allotted 6d per day to my mother which makes my present net pay 1/5 per day, or 1/6 in all.
3. The government are allowing my mother 5/9 per week, which added to my allotment of 3/6 per week makes a total sum of 9/3 per week which she is at present receiving.
I trust Sir that you are enjoying first class health, as for myself I cannot complain. We have been enjoying splendid weather lately, similar to summer at home. Things are very quiet at present around here & I trust they will keep so. Trusting that these answers are quite plain to you.
I remain Sir,
Your obedient servant,
