Dear Private Fitzsimons,

I was glad to have your letter of the 14th inst. 161 , and to hear how you are going on. I told Captain Simpson162 when I wrote to him a few days ago that you had seen him in France.

Glean all you can from the lectures you are having, because this will stand you in good stead in the near future when you will no doubt have your hands full of practical work in attending the wounded.

If you ever come across Private Eagleson of Donegall Road Branch Library you might give him some good advice about writing to me. One letter in fifteen months is more than enough to stop his pay.

Reciprocating your best wishes,
I am,
Yours sincerely,

CHIEF LIBRARIAN

Private J. Fitzsimons,
41st Casualty Clearing Station,
B.E.F.
