29th June, 1916

Dear McCausland,

I was pleased to have your letter of the 19th inst. 208 and glad to find that you are in good health and quite alive to your surroundings, exciting as they are.

I had a visit the other day from Fitzsimons who is in the Medical Corps. He is looking very well, and quite enjoying his interesting work.

I suppose you know that Captain Simpson209 has been at home on leave through shell shock. He is looking pretty well.

I had a note from Captain Coulson the other day. He has experienced some of the Lachrymatory shells, and has in consequence about lost the sight of his left eye.

I believe there is a big move going on just now at the Front, but of this I suppose we must all keep quiet.

Wishing you success and with kind regards,

I am,
Yours sincerely,

CHIEF LIBRARIAN
