Dear McCausland,

I was pleased to have your letter of the 19^th inst. ²⁰⁸ and glad to find that you are in good health and quite alive to your surroundings, exciting as they are.

I had a visit the other day from Fitzsimons who is in the Medical Corps. He is looking very well, and quite enjoying his interesting work.

I suppose you know that Captain Simpson²⁰⁹ has been at home on leave through shell shock. He is looking pretty well.

I had a note from Captain Coulson the other day. He has experienced some of the Lachrymatory shells, and has in consequence about lost the sight of his left eye.

I believe there is a big move going on just now at the Front, but of this I suppose we must all keep quiet.
