Egypt
16.10.1919
Dear Mr G.,
A note from the desert letting you know I'm still in the land of the living. I wrote you since I arrived I hope you received the letter safely as mails get lost occasionally. Well Mr. G. I have been attached to an Irish Regiment; I can tell you it is very warm here considering the season. I have been on the march about a week I think & will soon be at my destination as I can hear the distant thunder of guns.
I will send you my address in case you did not receive my former letter. 2nd Lieut. J. McCausland R.I.R., attached 5th Regiment, Egyptian Expeditionary Force.
I will draw to a close as my candle is getting small. Best wishes to all the staff.
I am dear Mr G
Yours truly,
J McCausland
