Dear Sir,
I've just had word from Mr Devlin, to the effect, that the War Office have notified him, that for the present I cannot get my release, but he gives me hopes of getting it before Xmas.
So I expect I shall have to "carry on" as usual, till a grateful government thinks it can dispense with my humble services.
I've no more at present except that over here, feeling is rather high just now, what with Socialistic meetings, peace celebrations & strikes.
Events within the next four weeks are anticipated to be exciting, and we all hope that all the rumours & threats floating about, will disappear happily.
I hope you are well, also all at the Library.
With kindest regards to all,
Pte. O'Rourke
