Libraries NI is delighted to announce that a stunning exhibition of bas relief sculptures in bronze, by local artist Farhad O’Neill, will be on display in Belfast Central Library until 27 May.

The exhibition, titled ‘A Life in Low Relief’ was launched in the library on Thursday 6 April and  includes 71 works in total, subdivided into six series each based upon a particular theme.

Farhad, who was raised in Canada and relocated to Belfast in the early 1990s, began the first series back in 1998 in his studio in the Conway Mill.  Since then he has added the other series of works and has displayed them at many prestigious locations throughout Canada.

Sian Cairns, Libraries NI District District Officer said:

“Farhad’s exhibition represents over 20 years of work in the genre of bas-relief (or low relief) carving and we are are thrilled that he has chosen to display these decorate pieces in Belfast Central Library.”

‘A Life in Low Relief’ is on display in Belfast Central Library until 27 May during library opening hours and is FREE.
