Ballynahinch Library will reopen its doors on Tuesday 7 May at 1:00pm welcoming customers from the local community back into the library following a period of closure for refurbishment.

The works carried out to the exterior of the building include the installation of a new roof covering, new rainwater goods and replacement of roof lights. Internally a fresh new suspended ceiling has been installed, the fire alarm system has been upgraded as well as the installation of new energy efficient lighting throughout the library.

Libraries NI District Manager Karen Magennis said;

“It is great to reopen the library and welcome our customers back into the branch to enjoy the facilities once again. I look forward to greeting returning and new customers over the coming weeks and to getting our regular events back up and running.

“The reopening is just in time for the upcoming exam season where students of all ages are encouraged to take advantage of the library which offers a free, ideal environment equipped with everything you need to prepare for what can be a stressful time of year.”

Ballynahinch Library is open six days a week including a Saturday and regular events in the library include Rhythm and Rhyme sessions for parents/carers and preschool children, Lego Club, Tea and Newspapers and Knit and Natter. Click here to find out more about Ballynahinch Library and its opening hours.
