Fivemiletown Library Hosts Tracks from the Past Cultural Heritage FestivalFivemiletown’s rich history is set to take centre stage this February as the town’s brand-new library hosts its first-ever cultural heritage festival, Tracks from the Past. Through a series of free exhibitions, talks, and storytelling sessions, visitors will have the chance to explore the people, places, and traditions that have shaped the local community.

Located in the recently opened Fivemiletown Library, the festival offers a unique opportunity to engage with local history in a modern, welcoming space designed for learning and discovery. The programme includes a deep dive into the Clogher Valley Railway, a look at migration’s impact on the town, and an exhibition celebrating the work of renowned Irish writer William Carleton. Visitors can also enjoy engaging talks from leading historians and authors, as well as storytelling sessions for both adults and children.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Fivemiletown’s heritage while welcoming the community into the new library,” said Rachel McGlinchey, Branch Library Manager.

“Our programme has something for everyone—whether you love history, literature, or storytelling, we invite you to come along and explore the past in a fresh and engaging way.”

The festival runs from Tuesday 18 February until Saturday 22 February at Fivemiletown Library, and all events are free to attend.
