Libraries NI invites people to make time for mindfulness with free online programme
Published 23 Jun 2026
Libraries NI is inviting people across Northern Ireland to take part in a new programme of free online mindfulness sessions designed to support wellbeing, resilience and self-care through simple, practical techniques that can be incorporated into everyday life.
Beginning on Monday 29 June at 11:00am, the weekly sessions will be delivered online via Zoom by experienced mindfulness practitioner Bridgeen Rea-Kaya and are suitable for both beginners and those with previous mindfulness experience.
Delivered as part of Libraries NI's wider programme of free online wellbeing activities, the sessions will introduce participants to a range of practical mindfulness techniques designed to support wellbeing, resilience and self-care in everyday life.
Over the course of the programme, participants will explore topics including present-moment awareness, mindful breathing, body awareness, self-compassion and emotional wellbeing. Sessions will also look at mindful movement, managing stress and anxiety, building resilience, developing healthier responses to challenging thoughts and emotions, and creating simple mindfulness habits that can be incorporated into daily routines.
As the programme progresses, participants will also explore mindful communication, gratitude, compassion and the role of mindfulness in supporting rest, sleep and overall wellbeing. The sessions are designed to provide practical tools that can be used in everyday situations while helping participants develop a sustainable mindfulness practice that can continue beyond the programme.
Participants only need to register once to gain access to the full programme and can attend as many sessions as they wish throughout the series.
