Lisburn City Library Hosts 20th Anniversary Afternoon Tea
Published 26 Nov 2025

Lisburn City Library will mark its 20th anniversary with a special afternoon tea celebration on Friday 28 November, and everyone is welcome to join in the festivities.
The event begins at 2:00pm with a storytelling session from our Storyteller in Residence, Liz Weir, whose lively tales will set the tone for the afternoon. This will be followed by an afternoon tea, giving visitors the chance to relax, chat and enjoy the occasion. Former members of staff have also been invited, so you may spot a few familiar faces. The celebration will run until 3:00pm.
A visitor book will be available for anyone who would like to share their memories of Lisburn City Library and reflect on its place at the heart of the community over the past 20 years.
After decades of planning, the library opened its doors on 28 November 2005 and has since become one of Northern Ireland’s busiest public libraries. The building extends over 2000m2 across three floors and includes a performance space, a children’s library and gallery space.
Come along and be part of the celebration — we’d love to see you.
