Maura Johnston from the Armstrong Storytelling Trust

Dungiven Library is inviting the local community to enjoy two special events this June, celebrating storytelling, literature and local heritage.

On Wednesday 11 June from 5:45pm to 6:45pm, the library welcomes Maura Johnston from the Armstrong Storytelling Trust for an evening of engaging tales and shared experiences. Known for her dynamic storytelling style, Maura will bring stories to life in a session filled with warmth, humour and connection. Booking is essential for this free event, which is suitable for adults.

Later in the month, on Saturday 28 June from 11:00am to 1:00pm, the library will host the book launch of The Yankee at Benbradagh by local author Lorna Jennings. Set just outside Dungiven in the 1970s, the novel offers a nostalgic and heartfelt look at local life through fiction. Everyone is welcome to come along, meet the author and enjoy light refreshments.

Both events are free and open to all, providing an excellent opportunity to celebrate local voices and connect with the community in the welcoming setting of the library.
