Tracks from the Past Returns to Fivemiletown Library This February
Published 19 Jan 2026
Fivemiletown’s rich local history will once again take centre stage this February as Fivemiletown Library hosts Tracks from the Past, a week-long Cultural Heritage festival from Tuesday 3 February to Saturday 7 February.
Taking place in the new, modern library building, Tracks from the Past invites the community to explore the people, places and stories that have shaped life in and around Fivemiletown. The programme features a mix of free exhibitions, talks and storytelling sessions, creating opportunities for people of all ages to connect with local cultural heritage in a welcoming, accessible setting.
Alongside The Splendid Press and The Reformation exhibitions running throughout February, the festival week brings together historians, archivists and storytellers to share insights into local history — from the legacy of the Clogher Valley Railway to stories of the mills and the area’s filmed heritage — offering a fascinating insight into Fivemiletown's past.
Rachel McGlinchey, Branch Library Manager, said:
“Tracks from the Past is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the heritage of Fivemiletown while bringing people together in the library. The programme reflects the strong interest in local history within the community and highlights how libraries can support learning, creativity and connection in a relaxed, welcoming environment.”
Tracks from the Past runs from Tuesday 3 February to Saturday 7 February in Fivemiletown Library, with exhibitions continuing throughout the month. All events are free, with booking required for some sessions.
