Free Mental Health Awareness Sessions

Free Mental Health Awareness Sessions

Libraries NI has teamed up with AWARE, the depression charity for Northern Ireland, to offer free mental health awareness sessions in June 2023. The ‘Mood Matters’ sessions will be held in Shankill Road and Newcastle libraries and will be delivered by the team at AWARE. In each session, attendees will learn more about the importance of mental health as well as valuable techniques for support and wellbeing.

Libraries NI has announced a series of events to mark National Crime Reading Month which takes place in June. Bangor Carnegie, Lisburn Road, Antrim and Carrickfergus libraries will be hosting renowned local authors during Crime Conversation events to celebrate, talk and delve into the popular and bestselling genre.

New Look Greenisland Library opens for the public

New Look Greenisland Library opens for the public

On May 18, Greenisland Library reopened its doors after going through an extensive refurbishment project. The investment work focused on improving the energy efficiency of the library with the installation of a new heating system, LED lighting and new double glazed windows and doors. The interior and exterior of the library have also been improved with a new roof, new floor covering and new internal decoration to reinvigorate the library.
