The Pact

The Pact by Sharon Bolton

Fast paced and highly addictive read. I quite enjoyed the earlier years when the six of them where teenagers and all the drama of the accident and Megan taking the blame. The later years of twenty years later were a lot slower paced and bizarre in places, like the demands Megan was making on the remaining friends. Even though the rest of them got away with the crime, it had affected all of them over the years and some of them were a mess.

I liked Amber, the rest were each in their own way not likeable. Towards the end it picks up pace and things start happening and I began to wonder if it really was Megan responsible for it all, or could one of the remaining five be to blame. I was literally on the edge of my seat as the ending drew closer, had ‘she’ made a big mistake in who she trusted?

The ending is a big shock, pretty exciting and all the action too. It is kind of sad though, sad it ended that was for some of them.
