It’s nearly here! Book Week NI is peeking round the corner again as another year passes and we are thrilled to be in partnership again with the BBC as we celebrate books, reading and of course libraries.

Keep an eye out for our BIG READ title which will be flooding our libraries from Monday 21 October for BookWeekNI and then watch our interview with the author. The chosen title is a ‘must read’ for many and the author is internationally acclaimed. He is a household name and we can’t wait to reveal his identity. Even if you haven’t read his books you will most likely have seen or heard of the film made of his most famous novel.

Have you guessed yet?

To launch the start of our new weekly Bookcited! podcast we will be releasing 5 new podcast episodes for you to listen to during the week, discussing everything from punk rock to draining Lough Neagh – with local authors from across the country from Ballymena to Bangor, Belfast to Portadown!

And, as if that wasn’t enough, we are also releasing 6 lovely online interviews for you to listen to during the week featuring names you may already be familiar with – and if not you soon will be! We cover everything from train journeys, teenage angst, turning writing therapy into bestsellers, dealing with writers block and even hanging out with Bowie and Queen! Pete and I from Stock Team have had great fun meeting and chatting to everyone and we hope that you will enjoy listening and be inspired to seek out and read the books we discuss!

Book Week will be celebrated throughout all our libraries with special Love Your Library events for all the family so check online to see what is happening in your local branch. There will also be coverage on BBCNI so watch out for plenty of book chat over the week.
