Tea and Newspapers  
Every Friday from 10:30am to 12 noon.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Monday from 10:30am to 11:00am.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Adult Reading Group  
First Tuesday of every month.
 
This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

Lego Club  
Every Wednesday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

Suitable for age 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Come along to have some Lego building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Board Game Club  

Come along and play games with friends, for children aged 5 and over accompanied by an adult.

Weekly Storytime  

Storytime sessions help children aged 4 - 8 years develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Knit and Natter  
Every Tuesday from 11:00am to 12:30pm.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Chatterbooks Junior Reading Group

SureStart Stay and Sing with Me  

SureStart led song and dance session for babies and toddlers, accompanied by a parent/carer.


No need to book, just drop in.

Feature First Housing Advice Service - Outreach Clinic  

Dungiven Library is delighted to welcome a representative from First Housing Advice Service to host an outreach clinic. First Housing Advice Service aims to provide housing advice to individuals or families at risk of homelessness or facing housing-related issues. Support is delivered through their outreach clinics in community venues, helping to ensure housing services are accessible to those in need.

Autumn Time' Themed Storytime and Crafts  

To celebrate Autumn, Dungiven Library invites children aged 4-10 years to come along and join us for a selection of themed stories about Autumn. 

Then be sure to join in all the fun with our selection of fun craft activities afterwards.

The Irish Wake  

A storyteller’s journey into the heart of one of Ireland’s most enduring 
traditions. Stephen O’Hara brings to life the folklore, rituals and 
superstitions that surround the Irish wake, a unique celebration of 
life, death and community.
Speaker: Stephen O’Hara is a storyteller from Cushendun with a 
passion for Irish mythology and the customs that shaped rural life.
His performances weave together humour, history and humanity.

Cancer awareness session facilitated by The Farming Community Network  
Libraries NI is proud to support the #NipItInTheBud campaign by hosting cancer awareness sessions in libraries across Northern Ireland. 
The campaign aims to tackle health inequalities in rural areas by raising awareness of cancer symptoms, encouraging earlier detection, and promoting timely access to healthcare. Early detection is key to improving outcomes — and ensuring rural residents feel informed and confident to seek help is at the heart of this work.

Christmas Family Fun Day with Christmas Card Making Craft  

As part of Dungiven Town's annual Christmas celebrations, supported by Causeway Coast and Glens Council, Dungiven Library invites the local community to the first of our Christmas Fun Day events: 

Children's themed storytelling between 11:00am - 11:30am, 

Christmas Lego activities between 11:30am - 12:30pm. 

Children's Christmas Card Making craft between 12:30pm - 1:30pm, led by our friendly Library staff, using our craft resources available. 

 

Tea, coffee and juice will be available throughout the Fun Day and a selection of festive colouring and wordsearches for all the community and families to enjoy.

The Out of Hours Service allows adults (aged 18 years and over) controlled access to Dungiven Library for an additional 34 hours per week outside of normal opening hours.
Registered members can access a limited but important range of services on a self-service basis, including broadband/Wi-Fi access, printing facilities, study space and book borrowing. To register, just call in or contact the library during normal opening hours and ask staff for details.
