📢 CUSTOMER NOTICE - Bank Holiday Closure 📢

All public libraries in Northern Ireland will be closed on the Spring Bank Holiday, Monday 26 May and Mobile Libraries will not be on the road on that date. The Out of Hours Service will remain available on 26 May in appropriate libraries. Remember that members have free access to eServices during this period. Register to become a Member.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Monday from 10:30am to 11:00am.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Knit and Natter  
Every Tuesday from 11:00am to 12:30pm.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Adult Reading Group  
First Tuesday of every month.
 
This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

After School Club  

Relax after school, complete homework, play games or puzzles, read from a wide range of books or access free internet.


Children under 12 should be supervised by an adult.

Lego Club  
Every Wednesday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

Suitable for age 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Come along to have some Lego building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Bedtime Stories  

Storytime sessions help children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feed their imagination. 


For children aged 4 - 8; accompanied by an adult.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Friday from 10:30am to 12:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Stay and Sing with Me  

Every Friday from 12:00noon- 1:00pm.


Song, rhyme and movement sessions led by SureStart staff, for children aged 0 - 4 accompanied by an adult.

Empathy Festival Storytime and Crafts  

To celebrate Empathy Day, Dungiven Library invites children aged 4-10 years to come along and join us for stories about understanding, friendship and kindness, followed by a selection of fun craft activities.

Dungiven Library is delighted to welcome Maura Johnston from Armstrong Storytelling Trust to hold a wonderful evening of storytelling. Come along and join in all the fun.

Loneliness Awareness Week Community Coffee Morning  

In support of Loneliness Awareness Week, Dungiven Library invites the local community to come together and enjoy a nice cuppa and a chat as we together to combat loneliness.

Book Launch "The Yankee at Benbradagh"  

Join us in Dungiven library to launch the book "The Yankee at Benbradagh" by Lorna Jennings. The book has a local connection being set just outside Dungiven in the 1970s. Refreshments served.

The Out of Hours Service allows adults (aged 18 years and over) controlled access to Dungiven Library for an additional 34 hours per week outside of normal opening hours.
Registered members can access a limited but important range of services on a self-service basis, including broadband/Wi-Fi access, printing facilities, study space and book borrowing. To register, just call in or contact the library during normal opening hours and ask staff for details.
