Creative Writing and Poetry Workshops in Libraries – Part of Book Week NI!

As part of Book Week NI, several libraries are hosting exciting writing workshops for aspiring authors and poets.
On Tuesday 22 October from 6:30pm to 7:45pm, Moira Library will host Lurgan author Jamie Guiney for an introductory session on short story writing. Perfect for budding writers, this workshop will offer essential skills for crafting compelling stories. That same day, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Armagh City Library will feature a poetry writing workshop with Linda McKenna, based on everyday objects as inspiration for writing poems. Linda’s debut collection, In the Museum of Misremembered Things, won the An Post Irish Book Awards Poem of the Year 2020. On Saturday 26 October, Linda will her poetry workshop in Newcastle Library from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The workshop will again focus on using everyday objects to inspire poetic creativity. Contact Newcastle Library at 028 4372 2710 or newcastle.library@librariesni.org.uk to reserve your spot.
Additionally, Newry City Library will host a Creative Writing Workshop on Saturday 26 October with historical romance novelist Catherine Tinley from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Catherine, an award-winning author, will guide participants in improving their writing across various genres and styles.
