A packed schedule of free events will take place in libraries throughout Belfast, including live music performances, storytelling sessions, poetry workshops, Irish dance experiences, family fun days, heritage events and interactive activities.
Belfast Central Library will host a wide range of events throughout the week, including a Family History Fair, traditional music and folklore performances, family theatre experiences, storytelling events and a special exhibition celebrating Irish dance. Other libraries across the city will welcome musicians, poets, storytellers and performers, creating opportunities for audiences to experience the rich traditions that make Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann such an important cultural celebration.
Families can enjoy magical storytelling, hands-on workshops, craft activities and family fun days, while adults can explore genealogy, heritage, poetry and traditional music through a range of engaging events.
Jim O’Hagan, Libraries NI Chief Executive, said:
"Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann brings people together through music, stories, culture and shared experiences, and we are delighted to support this year’s celebrations through a varied programme of events in libraries across Belfast.
"Libraries are places where people can explore culture, learn new skills, discover local heritage and enjoy spending time together. Through music performances, storytelling, family activities, poetry, dance and heritage events, we hope people of all ages will find something that interests and inspires them.
"We look forward to welcoming communities into our libraries throughout the week to enjoy the programme and experience all that libraries have to offer."
Alongside the events programme, libraries across Belfast will provide a welcoming place for visitors and local residents to take a break, recharge devices, browse collections and discover the many services available through Libraries NI.
