Libraries NI Encourages Young Artists to Discover the Beauty of Nature Through Gelli Printing
Published 06 Nov 2024

Gel paintingLibraries NI is thrilled to invite children aged 8 - 11 to a FREE Gelli Printing Nature Arts Workshop, taking place in Ballymoney, Portstewart and Coleraine libraries during November.

This inspiring workshop offers young participants a unique opportunity to explore art through the lens of nature, learning to create vibrant prints using botanical and other natural materials.

The Nature’s Art Workshop introduces Gelli printing, a fun and accessible technique where children can layer textures, colours, and organic shapes to produce their own artwork. Under the guidance of Ita McErlean, an arts and craft tutor, and dedicated nature enthusiast, participants will enjoy an interactive class designed to spark creativity and connect with the natural world.

The workshop will take place across three locations in Causeway Coast and Glens, each promising a fun-filled, artistic adventure:

Ballymoney Library: Saturday 16 November from 10:30am – 12 noon

Portstewart Library: Saturday 23 November from 10:30am – 12 noon

Coleraine Library: Saturday 30 November from 10:30am – 12 noon

Spaces are limited, so early booking is encouraged. To register your child for this FREE workshop, please contact:
