Libraries NI invites communities to come together for Macmillan Coffee Mornings

Libraries NI is inviting people across Northern Ireland to enjoy coffee, cake and conversation while supporting Macmillan Cancer Support at coffee mornings taking place in libraries this September.

As part of the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 25 September, libraries across Northern Ireland will once again open their doors to customers, friends and local communities for a warm welcome and an opportunity to raise money for people living with cancer.

Libraries NI customers and staff have supported the charity for 14 years, raising an incredible £142,705 through library-hosted coffee mornings. Every donation helps Macmillan continue providing practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer and those closest to them.

The events are a chance for people to spend time together, catch up over a cup of tea or coffee and homemade treats, while supporting a cause that has touched the lives of so many families.

Libraries NI Chief Executive, Jim O'Hagan, said:

"Every year our customers, staff and local communities show tremendous generosity in supporting Macmillan Coffee Morning. Together, they have raised more than £142,000 over the past 14 years, helping Macmillan provide vital support to people affected by cancer.

"We look forward to welcoming people into their local library this September to enjoy coffee, cake and good company while supporting such an important cause. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference."
