Support, creativity and connection across Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon libraries this May
Published 01 May 2026

Libraries across Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon will host a programme of events this May, bringing together community information sessions, wellbeing activities and opportunities to connect.
A key highlight will take place in Banbridge Library on Thursday 7 May, where Dementia Navigators from the Southern Health and Social Care Trust will deliver a short presentation offering an overview of dementia, followed by the opportunity for one-to-one conversations. This session will provide practical guidance, information and support in a welcoming and accessible setting.
Also in Banbridge, a weekly walking group continues throughout the month, offering a gentle way for people to get out, meet others and return to the library for a chat and a cuppa.
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, libraries across the area will host a range of creative and reflective sessions designed to help people take time out and reset. In Lurgan Library, a sensory story time and craft session on Wednesday 13 May at 10:30am will support younger children to engage through storytelling and hands-on activity.
Portadown Library will host an afternoon craft session on Wednesday 13 May at 2:00pm, while Keady Library will offer a painting evening on the same day at 6:30pm, encouraging people to unwind, get creative and enjoy time with others.
This varied programme highlights the role libraries play as welcoming spaces where people can access information, support and simple opportunities to connect.
All events are free, with booking required for some sessions. Click here to find out more and see what else is on in your local library or contact the library.
