Blue Plaque unveiled at Falls Road Library to commemorate poet Padraic Fiacc
Our libraries are home to a number of Ulster History Circle commemorative plaques, including to mathematician Robert Adrain at Carrickfergus Library, the Milligan Sisters at Omagh Library, Dr George Sigerson at Strabane Library and a plaque commemorating the actor J G Devlin on Falls Road Library. Yesterday a new Blue Plaque was unveiled on Falls Road Library to commemorate the life and works of poet Padraic Fiacc.

Newcastle Library Temporary Closure for Essential Maintenance
Due to essential maintenance works, Newcastle Library will be closed on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 August. It will also be closed on Monday 25 August due to the Bank Holiday and will reopen at 1:00pm on Tuesday 26 August, with book loan periods extended until then to cover the temporary closure.

Step Back in Time: Free Wartime Evacuees Events in Belfast Libraries
Children across Belfast will have the chance to step back in time this August, as Libraries NI joins up with the Northern Ireland War Memorial Museum to host a series of interactive Wartime Evacuees events in several local libraries. Young history enthusiasts will hear fascinating stories about what life was like for evacuees during the Second World War, see genuine wartime artefacts, and take part in creative activities.

Ulster Museum Brings History, Art and Adventure to Local Libraries
