Past Consultations

The following consultation closed at midnight on 8 January 2021.

Libraries NI delivers its Cultural Heritage Service in County Armagh by means of small heritage collections and access to freely available online resources in the nine branch libraries in County Armagh and a standalone heritage service on Abbey Street, Armagh, generally known as Irish and Local Studies (ILS)

Libraries NI is consulting on a proposal to relocate the services provided at ILS and to offer a blended approach as outlined below with the aim of providing a service which is more accessible, attracts greater use and is sustainable:

  • offering access to specific cultural heritage reference materials including maps, newspapers and microfilm by appointment at the Armagh Regional Administration Centre, Markethill Road, Armagh
  • supplementing the heritage lending stock in the Armagh City Library, Market Street, Armagh with additional material
  • relocating the remainder of the Armagh heritage lending stock to the refurbished Lurgan Library, Carnegie Street, Lurgan
  • continuing to respond to remote enquiries (i.e. letter, e-mail or telephone).

The public consultation will be open until midnight on 8 January 2021; for further information or to make an enquiry, please email services@librariesni.org.uk
