Libraries NI hosts free events to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week
Published 05 Feb 2024
On Wednesday 7 February, during Children’s Mental Health Week (5 - 11 February 2024), Libraries NI is hosting the first session of the new free Baby Yoga events in Lisburn City Library, starting at 11:00am with the remainder taking place in Banbridge, Glengormley, Kilkeel, Limavady and Newry City libraries during February and March 2024.
Baby Yoga promotes the wellbeing of both babies and parents and will be held in the warm and welcoming family spaces of local libraries, completely free of charge. Leading these sessions will be Gill Henderson, an experienced yoga teacher and therapist who has dedicated many years to teaching and practicing yoga. Gill is truly passionate about helping families and aims to create a positive environment for babies aged six weeks to nine months during these sessions.
Karen Moreland, Libraries NI Senior Services Manager said:
“Baby Yoga is a fantastic opportunity to bond with your little one and meet other families in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. The events are carefully designed to provide a nurturing environment and I look forward to welcoming participants over the coming weeks.”
These sessions are free to attend but booking is essential by contacting the relevant library. For more information on all the resources available in your local library including the books available in the Reading Well for Children and Shelf Help collections.
